Pony Effect Mini Haul

Tuesday, 29 May 2018

I absolutely adore Pony, when I started to get into K-beauty I always looked to her blog for ideas that I never actually put into practice as I didn't really venture much past eyeliner for eye make up. So, when she originally released her line with memebox I was gutted that it would only ship within the US (and if I remember correctly, Korea as well). But when she eventually came out with Pony Effect that was more widely available in comparison I kept lusting over the products, desperate to try them. They were a little out of my price range (I'm stingy okay) but earlier this year I noticed that Yesstyle had Pony Effect on sale. So I had to buy some!

Post contains affiliate links, however products purchased myself.

I MEAN LOOK AT HER!! How could you not want to own make up she's responsible for?

I only ended up picking up two products from her line (as I needed some skincare too) but trying these out have definitely made me want to get more in the near future.

One of the key factors of the packaging of Pony Effect's make up is the fact that it's very sleek and modern looking. Usually combining rose gold with either black or on the odd occasion, white. making for very minimalist products to be added to your make up collection

PONY EFFECT MASTER EYE PALETTE - PASTEL MASTER

This was the one product that I fell in love with when I saw it. I love pastel colours and wanted to get my hands on some more make up that would help me create more looks. A varied selection of gorgeous pastel shades in primarily shimmery textures (and ya know I'm a shimmer gal). The colours that actually caught my eye the most were the purple, blue and green, despite these being colours I don't wear at all. However, since buying this it's caused me to experiment a lot more with colour. There is also a brown and a grey to help round up the colours together.

PONY EFFECT FAVORITE LIP FLUID - ROMANTIC BREATH

So, finding which colour I was going to buy was a little struggle as I'm always so drawn to coral shades, I tried to avoid doing that when I picked one from Pony. I opted for Romantic Breath, a very soft MLBB pink shade. I wanted something natural to wear for any days that I want to look a little bit fresher rather than it being obvious I have make up on. I 100% want to buying all of these simply because it smells of watermelon?? aka the best scent out of any fruity scent. There are also a bunch of gorgeous reds available and ya know your girl suits red.

That's it from my little Pony Effect Haul, just two products to give me a little taste of the brand and whether or not I want to buy more. So far, with my uses of these products I've been really satisfied (I can do reviews if people would like!) and want to grab a lot more. What products have you tried from Pony Effect?

Mask Monday // 16Brand (Sixteen) Garden Toks Sheet Mask in Hibiscus Tea

Monday, 21 May 2018

Here's a brand I've been wanting to try for a good long time. Though I've been highly interested moreso in the make up products they have, sometimes trying out a sheet mask can be a good, affordable way to get a little first impression of a brands performance. 16Brand (Sixteen) is one of four beauty brands created by first gen Korean makeup Cho Sungah (I remember fondly watching her videos when I first started getting into K-beauty!). Her lines vary in their target audience and this brand in particular is targeted towards teens and those who like to see their make up as colourful and fun. This appeals to me widely as my make up is generally on the bright and healthy looking side. As with most K-beauty brands, there is a whole line of sheet masks from 16Brand and this one here is the Hibiscus Tea sheet mask from the Garden Toks range.

Peppermint extract, sage leaf extract, hibiscus extract, lavender extract, jasmine extract, green tea extract and black tea complex

This mask aims to revitalise and soothe the skin.

After washing and toning the skin, apply the mask evenly to the face, leave for 10-20 minutes, remove and gently pat the excess into the skin.

Immediately after applying, I'm greeted with a sweet floral, earthy scent. It's not overbearingly sweet but has a very natural fragrance to it. The essence has a good viscosity to it, not too thick and not too thin. It seems to grab onto the mask and not want to stay in the packaging, which prevents you dripping all over the place trying to get it out of the packet.

The material is quite thick, a sturdy mask I would say. It feels like it wouldn't rip all to easy if you happened to pull at the wrong part of the mask while trying to unfold. It feels comfortable on the skin and doesn't slide down while upright. For me, the mask fits perfectly, if anything there may be a slight raised area on the bridge of my nose in between my eyes but it's only minimal and easily fixed.

My skin felt and looked so much more vibrant than it was. It even seemed to help brighten up my under eye area and giving it a moisture boost. It took a while for the essence to dry fully, but I expect this with most masks in all honesty. There was only a slight tackiness left over.

O V E R A L L
This was a lovely little mask to use. The scent was gentle, the essence was refreshing and the result was as expected from the mask.

R E P U R C H A S E ?
I definitely would get an buy another one of these, however I'm intruiged to try the whole range out. So it might be a case of buying a whole bundle. So then I have a mask for every kind of occasion! I'm also even more keen to try their make up products after this performing so well for me.

What sheet masks have you been using lately?

A Dear Klairs Wishlist // Cruelty Free Week

Sunday, 20 May 2018

This post is in collaboration with Wishtrend and contains affiliate links.

Klairs is a brand I've come to continue to grow a strong love for. Every time I try a product I'm so impressed with it that I just want to get my hands on them all! So, today I am going to share a little wishlist with you all of some products that I've yet to have the chance to try yet. One of the things I'm sure will make a lot of my followers very happy is that the brand is a cruelty free one and some of the products they do sell are also vegan.

So, what products am I still dying to try?

Rich Moist Soothing Cream // Moisturiser is probably one of the most important things in my own skin routine as my skin can often get dry quite easily, especially in the winter when it's cold out and the heating is on, drying my skin out. Due to my experiences with other Klairs products, I'm sure this would just be as promising as a moisturiser.

Mid-Day Blue Sun Cream // Sunscreen is something I admittedly don't use that often, I live in Scotland and let me tell you we don't get a lot of sun. However, due to more research in time I've learnt that it is something that regardless of the weather I should be wearing. My skin can be quite red so the blue would tone that down a little!

Mochi BB Cushion // I mean look at how cute the little puff is?? The packaging itself is also super super adorable. I'm always on the look for new base make up as I've yet to try any of the Klairs make up products I would like this to be the first that I try!

Midnight Blue Calming Cream // This is a product I've had my eye on for a while. My skin can often get easily irritated during my time of the month or when I'm stressed out an I want to see how well this manages to calm my skin down. Plus, it's a pretty colour too!

Freshly Juiced Vitamin E Mask // I had a chance to use the Vitamin C Drops from Klairs in the past and that being such a great product I would love to try this Vitamin E mask from them. I know the two are most effective when used in conjunction with each other, so the drops would get a little repurchase!

Have you yourself tried any of these products above? What is your impression of them? I hope I can get my hands on them sometime in the near future.

From the 24th to the 31st of May, Wishtrend are holding a Cruelty Free Brand Week. For this week in particular they will be holding promotions on Korean cruelty free brands along with giving you a generous selection of samples with a purchase (the value to redeem the gift varies). Along with your gift you will receive a Stay Beagley Badge which are only available from Wishtrend during this time with this promotion. With the money from the purchases of this badge being donated to the campaign. You can read more about the Stay Beagley project launched by Klairs here.

The image below shows you everything that you will receive as a gift during this week.

Other cruelty free brands on Wishtrend are also By Wishtrend, Jungle Botanics, I'm From, CosRx, Chica Y Chico and Skin & Lab. I really hope that you can join Wishtrend in taking part in this campaign. I think it's a great thing that they are so willing to help promote such a good cause and also spreads awareness. I also feel this helps disperse the very common misconception that Korean brands all test on animals when there are a vast amount that do not. So make sure to pop on over to Wishtrend on the 24th and treat yourself to some fantastic skincare!

Review | Missha Satin Blusher Italprism - Rose Boutique

Friday, 11 May 2018

Blusher is one of these products I use daily but don't actually go crazy buying a tonne of. I have one pink, one coral and one red and I just use whichever one I feel appropriate for the rest of my make up. However, I couldn't help but fall a bit in love when I saw the Missha Satin Blushers from their Italprism range. It comes in four different shades: Pink Village, Peach Avenue, Rose Boutique and Touch of Light (a highlighter). I uhmmed and aahhed over which of the shades I wanted but I decided to go for a nice bright rose colour to potentially add to my collection for summertime.
